Incident Logger App

Learn about our success in developing an incident logger app, demonstrating GIS applications in incident reporting, analysis, and response management.

Challenge

Brisbane City Council required a new smart phone application that would allow internal security staff to capture information about various types of incident, such as damage to Brisbane City Council assets, break-ins, graffiti and more. It needed to be quick and easy for users to operate in the field.

Solution

In a short timeframe, GIS People developed and deployed an Incident Logger App. The app lets users capture incident info such as location, details, date and time, user details, and images. The info is then automatically sent to pre-defined e-mail addresses at the council so that the relevant people are notified about the incident, and the right team is deployed to fix it.

Outcomes

  • Streamlined and efficient security incident logging process.
  • Information goes straight to the relevant council staff.
  • Fewer errors and less missed data in logging.
  • Accurate locations recorded for incidents.
