Challenge
Last year Moreton Bay Regional Council implemented a new asset management system, with mobility functionality for field staff included. As the mobility solution has been rolled out to Council, and as demand for information from the asset register increased, a backlog of asset capture workflows developed. There were also issues with the quality of the data. An external consultant was required to undertake a comprehensive review of the current process and practices of the Asset Data Capture team, and identify potential improvement actions using the Asset Design As Constructed (ADAC) framework.
Solution
GIS People was chosen for the job due to our review and strategy development experience with local councils, and our experience and understanding of ADAC. We carried out a comprehensive review of business processes and procedures, as well as of the asset data and database structures. Following the successful deliver of an action plan we are now working with the Council on Phase 2 – implementation.
