Challenge
Fulton Hogan needed to identify the most promising locations for future asphalt facilities in southeast Queensland, based on a number of criteria including parcel size, flooding risk, distance from key resource areas, highways and residential land.
Solution
GIS People used multi-criteria analysis to combine the siting constraints provided by Fulton Hogan. The analysis results were embedded within a geographic overlay and series of maps was produced to show the potential facility site locations.
Outcomes
- Suitable industry properties derived based on multiple criteria analysis.
- Analysis results delivered in two geographical layers in Esri shape file format.
- KML files for use in Google Earth.
