A day of “spatial networking”
Yesterday was a busy one!
During the day GIS People exhibited at QSIC’s “Accessing Queensland’s Open Spatial Data” seminar. This seminar highlighted the Queensland Government’s open data strategy and showcased Queensland Globe. We got the chance to talk to many attendees about GIS People’s services, our training and Queensland Globe Roadshow, which is now underway. Many thanks to QSIC for inviting us to take part.
And the evening saw another fantastic Brisbane Geospatial Network event at Platform Bar. There was a huge turn out and it was great to see so many GIS professionals in one room. We were particularly excited to see Dr Tim Foresman, former NASA and UN Chief Environmental Scientist, back in Brisbane. Dr Foresman is the inaugural SIBA Chair of Spatial Information at QUT, and we look forward to collaborating with him and SIBA on ensuring Brisbane becomes an international powerhouse for spatial excellence.
